Inter-lux supported the design team of OTJ Architects and Sarah Richter Design to illuminate the new Washington, D.C. headquarters of Farmer Mac, the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation. Lighting from Whitegoods, Linea Light, and Stoane Lighting were incorporated into the design to help achieve the goal of creating a workspace that prioritizes employee well-being and environmental sustainability.

Farmer Mac embraces a hybrid work model and this innovative space creates opportunities for team members to meet in communal areas, take calls in private rooms, and focus at independent work stations. Inter-lux contributed to the style and effectiveness of this concept with lighting that facilitates productivity and reinforces the company culture. To achieve the low glare requirements, Inter-lux provided a selection of products with a Unified Glare Rating under 16.

Designed to blend perfectly with adjoining surfaces to create integrated lighting schemes, Whitegoods lighting welcomes employees and visitors with perimeter accents highlighting the elevator bank. Linear downlights brighten the offices and cylinder downlights accent a wavy wood-slat ceiling without interrupting the flow. Whitegoods is manufactured in the U.S. with a wide range of modular products to support design flexibility.

Flexible Linea Light Rubber outlines and illuminates the decorative ceiling in the lobby as well as the freeform shape of textured-fabric panels tucked behind collaborative workspaces to inspire creative exchanges of ideas. Linea Light luminaires feature functionality, style and design.

ZTA.50.Bay is surface mounted, precision machined from 70-90% recycled aluminum, and provides wayfinding from the front desk to offices down the hallway. Stoane Lighting products are made to order responsibly and designed for the circular economy.

With multiple brands and styles, Inter-lux lighting fulfills the needs of the entire Farmer Mac space from lobby to private office.
