Whitegoods Lighting Integrates with Luxury Fashion Brands
The Brown Thomas Group is known for its opulent department stores around Ireland with its retail outlets recognised as being the most prestigious in the country.
A recent relocation, redesign and total refresh of the Beauty Hall at Brown Thomas in Grafton Street in the heart of Dublin’s shopping district fell to the Architects BKD and implemented by Four IV interior designers.
Every project for Brown Thomas involves working with some of the most high profile and skilled visual merchandising designers and shop-fitting contractors in Europe. The challenge for the designers was to come up with a concept that focused on allowing some of the finest brands in the world to bring together their products, whilst keeping an elegant mood and maintaining the brand identity that is Brown Thomas.
Lighting designers DPA chose Whitegoods downlights to go hand in hand with their brief which was to give the customer a feeling of being immersed in a luxurious pool of glamour. A calming, concentric circle, water ripple effect, was worked into the design of the space; with the design of Whitegoods “Plaster-in 60 round downlight” being used to complement and enhance the effect with its absolute minimal visual impact.
Each of the luxury brand spaces were able to provide their own distinctiveness within their own parameters on the shop floor and the lighting above provided the elegant reflective mood required of the luxury shopping emporium.
